Grants

 

With the aim to support basic scientific and clinical research in the fields of local anaesthetic pharmacology, surgery, obstetrics and of pain management, ESRA propose 3 different Grants programmes :

 

ESRA Research Grant

The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) proudly presents the ESRA Research Grant in order to achieve the distinctive goals of ESRA, such as

  • to encourage specialisation of anaesthesiologists and other physicians in regional anaesthesia or pain management
  • to promote, sponsor and encourage research in experimental, epidemiological or clinical settings regarding regional anaesthesia or pain management
  • to help anaesthesiologists in under resourced countries to develop their scientific programmes

ESRA members from all over the world are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be ESRA members and should be at least in their third year of medical specialisation.

Applications could be forwarded at any time of the year to the ESRA bureau.

ESRA Educational Support Grant and Ambassador Programme

The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) offers the ESRA Educational Support Grant and Ambassador Programme in order to achieve the distinctive goals of ESRA:-

  • to encourage specialisation of anaesthesiologists and other physicians in regional anaesthesia or pain management
  • to promote and sponsor courses and workshops
  • to encourage teaching of regional anaesthesia in anaesthesiology training programmes.
  • to help anaesthesiologists in under resourced countries

ESRA members from all  over the world are encouraged to apply. However, there will be an emphasis on applications from anaesthesiologists coming from countries with limited structures and financial background to achieve the education in regional anaesthesia. such as some of the eastern European countries or some countries of the African continent. Applicants should be ESRA members, should have spent a minimum time in their specialty and should be at least in their third year of medical specialisation.

Centre of excellence

ESRA is looking for host institutions to welcome juniors benefiting from an ESRA Educational grant. There are no costs involved for the host institution, the only involvement is teaching and discussing regional anaesthesia routines. The visiting juniors can either be observers or work under supervision.

ESRA Research Cooperation Programme

The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) proudly presents the ESRA Research Cooperation programme in order to achieve the distinctive goals of ESRA:

  • to promote, sponsor and encourage research in experimental, epidemiological or clinical settings regarding regional anaesthesia or pain management.

The programme will serve to intensify international cooperation and exchange in high level research on regional anaesthesia and pain management among established ESRA members / established institutions chaired by ESRA members.

ESRA members and their institutions worldwide are encouraged to apply. Applicants and chairman of the departments applying should be ESRA members and should be established centres of excellence for regional anaesthesia and pain management
